February In Review

What a delay on this one! March is already over and I’ll be adding a March In Review blog post soon but first let’s get caught up…

After starting off the year with almost no work and a ton of baby time, I needed to dive back into it full speed ahead. I finished up the pieces I had packed into my suitcase at the beginning of January and took a weekend trip to Denver in late February to swap out newly finished bags and jewelry for a fresh batch of cut leather.

There were only a few weeks left until Spring at the Silos at this point so it was definitely time to buckle down and finish up all the restocks and new pieces.

With all the time I needed to log making the goods this month, I had a lot less time to read and definitely lost a little momentum on my 2019 50 books reading list. It took me most of the month to finish Becoming (due to time but mostly because I was completely loving it and didn’t really want it to end) and while I originally wasn’t planning to count Audible books in my goal to read 50 books this year, I found that it was the only way to get books in this month so I went ahead and adjusted the rules a bit.

In addition to Becoming, I finished two more books for a total of six in the first two months of the year. February reads included Postcards from the Edge and The Woman in Cabin 10 (Audible).

As much as I was ready to get back into the studio in March, I was also having trouble facing the fact that soon I wouldn’t be seeing the twins every day. Sloane started trying solid foods and definitely decided that she was not a fan of sweet things so nearly all new fruits she tasted were followed by a hilariously cute “sour” face. Ryland was slowly starting to get a full head of hair and had also started making these silly babbling sounds that almost sounded like she was growling to herself. And both girls had a newfound love for their play centers where they were content to chill for quite a bit while I did a little hand-stitching.

By the end of the month I had completed everything I brought to Cincinnati to work on and it was almost time to head back to Denver before packing up and hopping in the car for a 13 hour drive to Waco. I’m not sure where the time has gone this year, but I’ve got a lot of hard work ahead of me.
