January's "Five Things"
Five Things January- it's music (and wisdom) to your ears!
for goal diggers- There are a few podcasts that I love listening to in the studio and this month I've been digging Goal Digger from Jenna Kutcher. I've been listening to this one for a while but the beginning of a new year felt like the perfect time to go back and re-listen to some golden episodes full of entrepreneurial wisdom.
first aid kit- When I'm not listening to podcasts or books in the studio, I'm jamming out to some gorgeous music. I've been finding myself coming back toFirst Aid Kit again and again for their acoustic folk harmonies. (Have you heard Revolution with Van Williams?!?!?) Bonus: They JUST released a new album!
10x10 challenge- I tend to wear the same staple pieces on repeat pretty often so a 10x10 challenge seemed like a fun way to step it up a notch. That's 10 pieces from your closet styled into 10 different looks over 10 days. Those 10 pieces include shoes, pants, tops, dresses, etc. You can add in accessories to style the looks as you please. The challenge is from Style Bee, visit her blog for more info on how it works.
do a diy- Sundays are for days at home and DIY projects galore. Recently the bestie and I have been really into concrete projects and we started small with some itty bitty ring cones and a few candle holders and planters. Here's a simple and easy ring cone project you can do in an afternoon! Check out this quick tutorial from diyinpdx.com.
ingrid goes west- Anyone else feel like social media can be a bit of a horror show? The obsession with how many followers you've got, constantly comparing yourself to those "perfect" accounts, spending more time on your phone than engaging with people IRL...it's scary stuff. Ingrid Goes West is a comical yet disturbing look at an unhinged girl who becomes obsessed with an Instagram star she follows out to LA.
